Our goal is for each player to have fun while improving her knowledge and skill of the game.
We field teams at the 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, and 18U divisions. Five and six year olds play T-Ball with the boys in the baseball league. There are approximately 120 girls that participate in softball (not including T-ball players) each season.
Teams will typically play two games per week from early April through mid-June. In most cases, it’s a 6:00pm weekday game and a Saturday morning game. Pre-season skills clinics will be held on March 15th and March 29th, 2016. Home games are played at the two softball fields at Lookout Park off River Road, Upper Makefield Township.
Age Levels and League Affiliations
At the 8U and 10U levels, the league joins with teams from surrounding areas in Pennsylvania and New Jersey to form leagues. 8U is a coach pitch age group. The goal of 8U is to teach softball fundamentals and prepare them for playing the full game of softball. At the 10U level, kids pitch, scores are kept, and there is an end of season playoff tournament.
At the 12U, 14U, and 18U levels, the teams participate in the Inter-Township League, which includes Upper Makefield, New Hope, Newtown, Southampton and Warminster. At these levels, we utilize ASSA rules with specific modifications for each level. There will be a mid-season and end-of-season tournament.
The league does not field any travel teams, but does sometimes field teams for tournaments and fall ball.
